GPS monitoring of vehicles had been there for a while, at least since the late 1970 s. Many trade names have been associated with as LoJack and LoTrans. This is the beginning of the application made especially for the service and monitor the number of vehicles, fire and police vehicles. They depend on World War II LORAN (Long-range Radio Aid Navigation) system.
